CH Lin Cars Code of Skylands
| Welcome to my website! About Lin Cars BMD It was in 1991, at my very first dog show, where I saw my first Berner. I really didn't know what kind of dogs they were, but it was love at first sight! So I started my research, allot of research, went to more dog shows, talked with the people who had them, read books, and videotaped those beautiful animals; the Bernese Mountain Dogs. Once I was sure that I wanted a Bernese, I found out that it wasn't so easy to get one. I talked to many breeders in person and by phone. I soon found out that if I wasn't really interested in showing them that I was just out of luck. So that's how I got started in showing and breeding. I purchased my first Berner in August of 1993 and named him 'Chance' figuring he was my chance to get started. Too bad he was a little bit small (not for me he wasn't) to succeed in the show ring. So Chance turned out to be my learner Berner and we both had a great time learning from each other. There have been more Berners in the family since and there always will be. This is a decision I have never regretted, since these beautiful animals give back two-fold what you give them. This has become a family affair. My daughter Betty Ellen is the head groomer and goes to a lot of the shows. Elizabeth and Heather are my Junior Handlers and they help with the dogs too. Even though I am a hobby breeder, I follow the AKC standard for the Berners. This means I breed to improve areas such health, longevity, & temperament. This is not a business for me, it’s the love that I have for these dogs. I breed for love and quality! Puppies Our puppies are all raised in the home. Some go on to be show dogs, but most go to pet homes. I am very particular of who gets one of my pups, and screen the applicants carefully. I support anyone who buys a puppy from me and will answer any questions they may have about the dogs. Being open and honest about my dogs and puppies is important, and if for any reason you cannot keep a Berner you purchased from me, I will take the dog back. One thing that I remember is during my search for a Berner, was the numerous calls and contacts trying to obtain my first dog. It took nearly 2 years to finally get my first one. There were so many of my phone calls that were not returned, it was very discouraging. I promise to return your call or email, it may take a few days or so, but you will hear from me. This includes people who are looking for information on the breed as well.Copyright ©2007-8 Lin Cars Bernese Mountain Dogs. All Rights Reserved. Web Mastered by NorseWorks Website Design.
